This translated into contempt for Harry, who was a daily reminder of the world beyond their own – one which they both feared, and didn’t understand. WebAnd Harry would never have confronted the Dursleys while at Hogwarts unless there was no chance of him ever seeing the Dursleys again. He didn't have that. An abused child will try to avoid confronting their abusers simply because confronting them will have a huge chance of making the abuse worse.
