There are three places to check for moisture: 1) Connector at the cord/block heater. 2) Connector at left front bumper (3 pin amphenol to standard 120 V male connector) 3) 120 V male connector to extension cord. Some of them have even been documented on the dieselstop site. The cause is the cord. The OEM cord is molded and the conductors are contained in a flat jacket.

Check the resistance on the heater first.. I had one go bad out of the blue.. The cord for the 7.3 and 6.0 are the same.. KATS number 28216. The heater themselves are made different. The block heater itself is located passenger side in engine block right above starter motor. There may or may not be a cord attached to it. If not, you have to buy the cord.
